Named for the flock of Canadian geese that swoop over the property each evening, so close that guests can hear wings whooshing, Goose Hill Downs provides tranquil lodging in Berea, KY. Raised with old fashioned Southern values, husband and wife team Andy and Rene have rooted Goose Hill Downs in those same traditions.

Wake up to a hearty Southern breakfast of farm fresh eggs, homemade fruit preserves, Goose Hill Downs' signature cinnamon rolls, biscuits and gravy, sausage and other traditional offerings. Goose Hill Downs takes pride in serving farm-to-table fresh fruits and vegetables; its menu changes daily. Throughout the day, you may find yourself walking the grounds bursting with exquisite flora - including daylilies, ornamental grass, rose gardens, phlox and Jane magnolias. Hand feed the farm's resident animals - alpacas, horses, calves, ducks and baby chicks among them - or do some exploring around the pond.


Built from the ground up, Andy and Rene designed the home and finished it in September 2011. Goose Hill Downs continues to be a work in progress. Simple living is a core value at the bed and breakfast. The custom built energy efficient house is ENERGY STAR rated and the grounds feature many upcycled projects, including a cabin made entirely from recycled pallets. Cutting down on waste is a way of life at Goose Hill , making it a perfect green tourism destination and ideal for those wanting environmentally friendly accommodations.

The Goose Hill Downs experience showcases the passion of its owners. Andy and Rene are both motorcycle enthusiasts and, as a motorcyclist friendly bed and breakfast, Goose Hill Downs is a proud member of IBMC (International Brotherhood of Motorcycle Campers). Familiar with the country back-roads, Andy will be happy to help you plan your bike tour of Madison County, KY and surrounding areas. Goose Hill Downs gladly accommodates motorcycle campers and tents with outside electricity, baths, and complimentary breakfast.


Just as Innkeepers Andy and Rene have learned and adapted to the land, they enjoy adapting to and learning theirs guests as well. A well spring of area knowledge, guests have ready-made travel agents to offer suggestions for things to do in Berea and the surrounding cities.

  • Biodiesel Processor - Interested in natural resource conservation, Goose Hill Downs operates its own biodiesel processor. If you're curious about biodiesel processing, Andy will be more than happy to offer a demonstration.

  • Historic Interests - A point of interest for history buffs is a cemetery dating back to the early 1800s located on the property. A short hike away, Innkeepers Andy or Renee will gladly give you a guided tour or point you in the right direction.

  • AOK Taxidermy - In the interest of respecting game as hunted for food and not sport, Andy preserves animals in his taxidermy shop.

  • Motorcycle Rides - Motorcycles are welcome at Goose Hill Downs! Innkeepers Andy and Rene have first-hand knowledge about the best motorcycle roads in this part of Kentucky and are happy to assist bikers plan their rides.
